Do you want to know about local waste problems in Uppsala and how we can improve them?
During the study visit, we will learn the steps that the purification process includes and what we can do about the sludge we separate from the water. We will also talk about “toilet-knowing” and environmental labels. The treatment plant is one of the most popular study visits in Uppsala, with over 1,400 visitors in 2018. Where? Avloppsreningsverket Kungsängsverket, Stallängsgatan 3, 753 23 Uppsala. We start in the room “Visningssal” just by the parking lot, just follow the sign or wait in the parking lot for guidanc
–> The visit is partly outdoors. Outer clothing and shoes are recommended.
Who and how many people can join? Everyone interested in waste management can join the tour. We can accept up to 15 participants.
How much does it cost? It‘s for free. Donations for Zero Waste Uppsala projects are appreciated.
How to get there?
By bus: Bus Nr. 5 from Uppsala Vaksalagatan goes till Vimpelgatan and from there it’s around 500m to walk.
By bike: You can also travel by bike. It will take ~ 8-9 Mins from Stora Torget (2,5 km from the city centre)
